Dear family, friends, and followers~
Add to our adventure and experiences by daring us to do something… anything! It can be embarrasing, gross, awkward, silly, scary, adventurous… use your imagination.
Leave a comment or send us a message of your dare. If we accept and once completed, we will show proof by posting a photo and describing the experience.
Tell us about your dares at any time. You may find it helpful to reference our itinerary page to determine where in the world you would like your dare to take place. For example, we cannot pick our noses infront of the Eifel Tower if we have already left Paris. If your dare is for a future location, we will list the dare as ‘pending’ until we arrive. Once a dare is completed, donations can easily be made through PayPal using the “Donate” button at the bottom of this page.
We thank you in advance for your help in making this a trip of a lifetime!
Here are a few examples of how your donation will be enjoyed.
- $1 – a beer in Delhi, India
- $11- average daily budget in India
- $20- average daily budget in Guatemala
- $8-30 average daily budget in South America
- $15-60 average daily budget in Europe
- $130- Ten Day Meditation/Yoga Retreat in Rishikesh, India
COMPLETED DARES:
Jen and Joel’s Dare – April 19, 2010 – Buenos Aires, Argentina
We visited the San Telmo Antique market and did our best to locate each item on the scavenger hunt. It was a long full day, but searching for particular goods added to the fun!
Kyle’s Dare – October 4, 2009 – Ko Pha-Ngan, Thailand
We consumed multiple buckets in celebration of the full moon and Jayme’s 26th birthday. The combination of alchohol, pop, and red bull kept us partying until the sun came up.
Kyle’s Dare – September 9, 2009 – Bangkok, Thailand

We actually did it…. we ate bugs! They were crispy and reminded us a lot of potato chips, but the legs got stuck in our teeth. We will stick to veggies
Bridget’s Dare – August 5, 2009 – Cairo, Egypt
We enjoyed traditional Kashari our first night in Egypt. A bowl full of noodles, beans, tomato sauce, and fried toppings reminded us of a mixture of left overs, but it wasn’t too bad.
Cyndi’s Dare – August 2, 2009 – Amsterdam, Netherlands
We ‘vaporized’ in Baba’s Coffee Schop in the center of the Red Light District. A visit to Amsterdam wouldn’t have been complete without this experience.
J-C and Karl’s Dare - July 28, 2009 – Munich, Germany

We enjoyed a delicious Schlemmer-Frühstück breakfast at Bodo’s Conditorei Café!
Colin’s Dare - July 20, 2009 – Krakow, Poland
Although it was not in Prague, we still were able to experience the Spanish Absinthe (La Absenta) together!
Cheryl’s Dare- July 2009 – Brindisi, Italy
We stopped through Napoli on our way to Pompeii, but didn’t receive this dare until we were back in Rome. This picture was taken at a bank in Brindisi, Italy as we boarded a ferry to Greece.
Bob’s Dare – July 6th, 2009 – Interlaken, Switzerland

We completed Bob (Jayme’s dad’s) dare to paraglide, which was sent to us via email in Switzerland. The experience was amazing and the transition between ground and flight was very graceful. We are ready for skydiving… who wants to dare us?
Colin’s Dare - July 2, 2009 – Barcelona, Spain
We were not able to visit an Absinthe distillery, but we did find the name and address of a supplier in Barcelona. We purchased a highly recommended bottle and carried it around with us for the next 3 weeks!
David’s Dare – June 2009 – Paris, France
We enjoyed a delicious Brie sandwich outside of the Notre Dame in Paris. Yummy!
Colin’s Dare – June 18th, 2009 – London
We had a busy day sightseeing, but thanks to the tube, we were able to see all the major attractions in one day. What a way to start the trip!
Bridget’s Dare – June 13th, 2009 – Dublin, Ireland
The lyrics to our “Globalizer” song were written with the help of Bridget and Britt on a Sunday-Funday in Denver, CO. We didn’t sit together on the plane to Dublin, but sang our song at the top of our lungs in a cab on the way home from Temple Bar in Dublin, Ireland.
Will’s Dare – December 28th, 2009 – Vail, Colorado
With the help of Will, we named ourselves “The Globalizers!”
I dare you to name yourselves the globalizers!

Jayme and Chelsea,
I dare Chelsea to dress up like Frodo and keep a golden ring around her neck for the entire duration of their time spent in NZ. And I dare Jayme to dress up like Gollum or Wormtongue (you can have your pick)for the entire duration of you time in NZ. On the last day the two of you must duel seeing as how Chelsea comes from the force of light and, as we already knew, Jayme comes from the force of darkness. If you girls do this, you will be rewarded!
Dare Pending until New Zealand

Joel and I dare you both to do a scavenger hunt in the antique market in San Telmo (on sundays) in Buenos Aires.
The rules are that you have to take a picture of BOTH of you holding the item or wearing it, (don´t buy anything) you will know what I mean when you get there, it is off the hook! You may have to ask questions to figure out what some of the items are, but if you get ALL the pictures you will be rewarded with a nice donation for your troubles;)
Item 1: The orgasmatron (there are lots of these but you have to figure out what they are…and keep your mind out of the gutter!…they are for making you feel good though.)
Item 2: An original hand drawn map of Sur Americana from the conquistadores españoles.
Item 3: A 2 peso amount of garrapiñada
Item 4: An original cannon sight (like a gun scope) This could be tough but you can do it!
Item 5: A boca juniors camiseta oficial
Item 6: A scarf de al paca (jayme wearing or standing next to a pink one and chelsea wearing or standing next to a green one)
Item 7: A book that is over 100 years old (don´t touch it though, it may crumble)
Item 8: A flattened 1L Quilmes
Item 9: A photo with the wind man (you can´t mistake him)
Item 10: An original pad lock and turning key that works
This is your dare from us, good luck and have fun!!!
–tip buy and orange juice there, it is the best we have ever had!!
Dare Completed! Thanks for the scavenger hunt

Dare for Madrid or other town’s in Spain… Visit a real Absenthe factory, buy a bottle from the actual distillery and traditionally enjoy.
::WARNING:: They have a high content of wormwood and originated from Spain… which, is a hallucinogen. They do not allow import of the stronger versions of Absenthe here in the states. Would be one of a kind. Go easy on it and be sure to buy one legit, you do not want a home brewed or street bought one. Liquor store or distillery (regulated versions).

Sorry for misspeaking… Originated in Switzerland and spelled Absinthe (Thanks Bridget! I looked at your spelling and knew I messed up right away)…
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Absinthe
However, there are distilleries in Spain and you girls had better check it out! I will pay for the bottle if it happens! Maybe we could save this dare for you two and ME to drink in Chech when I get out there….
hmmm…. I dare you to meet up with me in Chech and enjoy “the green fairy” with me!

When you are in thailand (koh samui or koh phangan) you have to have a f*in good bucket (or 2!) and when you are in the rest of thailand you have to go to a food market and buy some grasshoppers or other creepy crawler and eat it! Remember they just taste like BBQ chips….

Happy Birthday Jayme! You now have $26 in your Pay Pal account from your big sis in honor of ringing in your 26th year
I hope you’re having a fantastic birthday.
My only request/dare for the $26 and to toast your birthday, is use it toward a souvenir/experience of some kind that you will always remember. Whether it’s you and Chelsea trying a bizarre item that you both say “no way” to, but do it only because this is the only time you ever would or buying some special trinket that every time you look at it, you will remember this fantastic voyage.
Just let me know what you do with it
and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Dare completed. Jayme bought a much needed new swimsuit in Thailand. Thank you

I dare you to make a little “paper chase” in and around Sydney:
. (No worries, he’s a nice guy and made that drink plenty of times for us when we came back from work..) Of course, another picture has to be made as proof.
1.) Drive along Captain Cook Dr until you reach Botany National Park; there you have to find the obelisk and the stone opposite in the water with the saying “Captain Cooks Landing Place” (which is interestingly not located in the “CCLP-park”). Take a picture next to it.
2.) Go to 355 Liverpool Street, the “Patterson”, in Darlinghurst. Take a picture in front of it and make a guess: which window belongs to the room I was living in for many months?
3.) Find Norman Street and take a picture next to the Street sign
4.) Visit “Exhibition Hotel”, corner Chalmers St / Devonshire St, and reward yourself with a Tooheys Eytra Dry (or Tooheys New) with a shoot of Coke in it. Have a look what the bartender says about ordering such a “German cocktail”
5.) Find the “Outback Center” in Darling Harbour and see if they still offer daily Outback Shows (1 – 3 – 5 pm) in the little theater in the back of the shop; a really nice experience and a lot of information about Aboriginal life and culture, presented in an entertaining way.
6.) Go to the “Myers” shopping mall in Pitt St (George St?) and take a picture of you hugging each other, like in the famous video “Free Hugs” which won the YouTube-award in 2007. Even better: hug a policeman in front of “Myers”. > http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/free-hugs-wins-youtube-awards/story-e6freuy9-1111113230857
I could also dare you to do the Manly Walk from Fisher Bay Reserve along Sandy Bay to Manly Cove; or the Bondi Walk through Hunter Park, but I guess that’s already on your schedule.
Have fun!

Hi ladies,
I just found your blog. While on my RTW trip last year, I met a Spanish couple that went searching for anacondas (the giant snakes) in Bolivia.
Since I didn’t make it to Bolivia, I’ll donate $75 to your travel fund if you go on an anaconda tour (anywhere in South America), write about it, and post photos. This should help cover the cost.
I’ll be following your blog, but this might be months away, so if I miss it, be sure to email me so I can donate.
Enjoy your time abroad!
Dare pending. This is very generous of you and we will look into it. Large snakes…oh my!

Oh, and now that you’re both divers- take great advantage of the northland coastline beaches :0)
Have fun in NZ, it’s a beautiful country – Nats
